Hi reader,
October is the right month for a hospital where the patients are not always human. Code Black, the second Coven General book, came out on October 2, and here is how Catherine's night begins:
The trouble with a man who has no whites to his eyes is you cannot check his pupils.
I stood at the head of bay four with a penlight in my hand and nowhere to point it. Black corner to corner, wet and complete, like someone had poured ink into the sockets and let it set. He blinked. He blinked frequently, which I would like entered into the record as the worst part of the whole encounter.
"Sir. Can you tell me your name?" He could. He did. It ran about nine syllables and three of them went sideways somewhere behind my ear.
"I'm going to call you bay four."

Three weeks after deposing a vampire queen, ER nurse Catherine Anderson has eight bonds in her chest and a boyfriend older than the city of Chicago. Then the Unseelie Court arrives, and they do not attack. They apply for a job. Mr. Wendell Grieve is fae, impeccably polite, technically her new boss, and on his first day he fixes the vending machine that has been stealing from the night shift since 2019. Everything he offers is something Catherine actually wants. Every clause is true. Every clause is a hinge.
A paranormal romantic comedy with a found family of disastrous immortals. Closed door, guaranteed happily ever after.
Available on Kindle Unlimited.
